A well-established institution on the Wimbledon dining scene, San Lorenzo Fuoriporta, meaning beyond the city walls, is a spacious, engaging Italian restaurant, which has been run by the same family since it opened in 1969. Part of the San Lorenzo restaurant pedigree, this comfortable eatery serves classic Tuscan-rooted comfort food. There are two private dining rooms and al fresco tables in the attractive courtyard. The fact that it has served local as well as international clientele, and is still going great guns is ample proof that the proud owners lay much emphasis on quality, evolution and elegance.

It was disappointing. The service was poor and the food was only average quality and overpriced. Even the coffee was cold.
