San Miguel's Description
As you can probably guess from the name, San Miguel's On The River is indeed a Spanish restaurant on the banks of the River Thames in the Battersea area. The restaurant is situated in a tower block that whilst not impressive to look at itself, does provide rather impressive views out across the river.
On the menu you'll find traditional Spanish fare from tapas such as tortilla, chorizo dishes and patatas bravas, to great meat and fish dishes with a Spanish twist. Main course dishes are priced around the £12 to £16 mark, whilst the tapas options is a slightly cheaper way to dine.

This is certainly the best tapas bar I’ve been to in London. I eat there regularly and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and are always willing to take time to chat with you, although they are not pushy. From the tapas menu I can definitely recommend the chorizo al vino and the gambas a la plancha. From the a la carte menu the steaks are possibly the best I’ve had and there are special priced meals available at lunchtime. It’s well worth a visit.

If you are close to the plantation wharf, it could be a good option, but it is too expensive. The food is quite good, but the staff could be much better (I mean the face to face encounter). If you don’t mind that and if you have money, you could enjoy good Spanish omelettes and good wines. If you are a tourist, I don’t recommend you going so far from the city centre.
