Satis House

12a Main Road, Saxmundham, IP17 3EX

Satis House is now serving Modern British food, quite a change from its previous Malaysian incarnation; most ingredients are locally sourced, with much of the meat supplied from within a two mile radius and tends to be seasonal. Their dishes are not overcomplicated nor fussy, just good quality served in an informal yet stylish atmosphere. Examples of dishes on offer could include roast teal with blood orange and beetroot, English onion soup, Suffolk game terrine or Blythburgh pork satay with cucumber salad to begin your meal, with mains like 12oz rib eye and hand cut chips with béarnaise sauce, sausage and mash, roast pollock and clams with artichoke mash or for vegetarians, Malaysian aubergine curry with basmati rice.

REVIEWS OF Satis House

John & Jane (24 July 2010)

We have eaten at Satis House on three occasions - two lunches and one afternoon tea. The food has been exceptional on each occasion and the afternoon tea was a meal in itself! The service is friendly and efficient. We love the decor which is modern and distinctive although I've had a comment from someone more conventional who felt that it was not appropriate for a Georgian building. Attention to detail runs to moisturiser in the Gents toilets.

Mike & Jacky (18 September 2008)

One of the best restaurants we have been to in a long time, the food and quality of service is first class. You are made to feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble, we have been there a few times and the standard has never dropped.
