School House Restaurant, The

The School House came recommended via my daughter who had heard about it from a friend. The warm welcome and service was exactly what we would have expected and were not let down, it was perfect. The food was delicious and all four of us on this occasion and two others visiting later said the same. We all ate different dishes from starters right through to desserts, all without fault and truly delicious. I suggest you book now and have a truly marvellous feast.

We discovered the School House while driving on holiday about six years ago and we are glad we did. We went four times once before, and when we stayed in Falmouth, we drove the distance just to visit. I have had many good meals and been in some excellent restaurants but this takes some beating. I have never tasted food like it, cooked to perfection, presented to perfection; the staff, the chef, everybody goes that bit further to make it a special meal.

I had an allergy and really wanted something on the menu, it was not a problem at the School House they did the meal and made a sauce leaving out what I was not allowed to have. Anybody visiting Cornwall and find that you are in St Austell, go that bit further first and go straight to the School House, you will not be disappointed. We will be visiting Cornwall in September and we know which restaurant we will be visiting first, no hesitation, its the old School House - marks out of 10 it’s got to be a 15.
