Established in 1851 and having seen service through the reign of six monarchs, Scott's is a culinary British landmark, however, for some time it seemed to be cursed as successive owners failed to make a success of running it; however, along came Richard Caring, owner of The Ivy and Le Caprice, riding to the rescue and not only does the place look stylish and attractive once more but the food is excellent also.

They have always specialised in oysters, shellfish and other denizens of the ocean, sadly these do not come cheap these days, nonetheless, given its position in the heart of Mayfair and the quality of what it serves, a meal there should not break the bank. It has also attracted back the rich and famous 'beautiful' people to grace the restaurant again, adding to its social appeal.
