Scutchers Restaurant Description
And so to Long Melford, that ghetto of antiques emporia, the typical wide street with user-friendly parking in most places. Scutchers is a relaxed, easy-going place, in comfortable surroundings. An interesting and quite demanding menu offers such delights as sauté foie gras on rosti with mushy pea accompaniment, or haggis with caramelised shallots. Then on to strips of Dover sole with a light curry sauce, or if you are of that persuasion (or even if you aren't) a vegetarian risotto with an egg poached to your liking. Follow with a trio of homemade ice creams in a tuile basket. The wine list is good, but take a deep breath first. There is also a house selection starting at £11.50 so all is not lost.
