A refurbishment has resulted in a stunning new design at Searcy's Restaurant and Bar at the Barbican Centre. Elegantly furnished with dark woods and creams, with oversized lampshades hanging over grey semi-circular banquettes, and fine views over the lake, this is a stylish contemporary venue for fine dining. A private dining room seats up to 12 people and a tall feature table is ideal for groups.

Specially created breakfast, lunch and dinner menus maximise the dining experience here. Sample such dishes as chilled Andaluz gazpacho, Dorset crab, saffron and tomato tart, seared smoked salmon with apple and watercress salad, roast corn fed chicken with crispy pea and parmesan polenta, rare onglet steak and roast Southdown rump with chickpea and potato salad. A dessert selection of summer pudding, passion fruit tart and chocolate fondant wraps up a gracious meal. At the chic bar choose from sweet pickled chillies, salted almonds, marinated anchovies and fennel salami to accompany a glass of wine from an artfully compiled list that emphasises biodynamic and organic wines.
