Shaws Restaurant and Cafe Bar

20-22 Broad Street, Hockley, Nottingham, NG1 3AL

Owned and managed by Jonny Bingham and Ash Childs, Shaws has grown to become Nottingham's favourite place to dine and catch up. The Shaw's building was built in 1906 as a textile factory, and the restaurant and bar opened its doors after the factory closed in 1999. The spacious and airy ground-floor bar is open throughout the week, and diners love to linger on good wine and fresh tapas. Char-grilled herb polenta with spicy tomato salsa competes with hot chorizo, chilli and olive oil, and meatballs with cayenne pepper, onions and tomatoes. The bar also offers lunch and dinner. Now comes another exciting part of Shaws, the lovely Sea Shaw's restaurant, which like its name suggests, offers some of the finest seafood in the area.

A bowl of mussels with shallots, white wine and cream sets the tone for a delicious meal that could include grilled fish, pies, or good old battered fish with hand-cut chips and mushy marrowfat peas.

Live music is played in the bar every Friday and Saturday, and Shaws is available for private hire.

REVIEWS OF Shaws Restaurant and Cafe Bar

Louise (11 January 2010)

A great night, brilliant atmosphere and well cooked, well served food. Good value for money. We will definitely be returning soon.

Dom (24 September 2009)

I enjoyed a unique evening of great food and great music there, the tapas was well priced, tasty and generous, complemented with Spanish beer on draft, it hit the spot.

In addition the ‘new swing all stars’, were playing their first gig. Look out for them, they are fantastic. It was a really good night, great food and much more.
