Shepherd's Crook, The Description

Another fine example of the type of pub in Oxfordshire that appears in such profusion with scarcely a bad'un amongst them. Located by the village green the place gets away to a fine start with some of the best kept examples of the best-loved beers in Britain, headed by Timothy Taylor Landlord.

The big event of the day is the delivery of fresh fish, giving the menu a distinctly seaborne effect. Much of the produce comes from the locality and Mine Host interests himself mightily in this basic essential. Expect then to see king prawns with garlic and chilli, Cromer crab salad, steak and kidney pie or Oxford sausages with mustard mash and onion gravy, with a touch of game in season.

The wine list is well worth a closer study, and contains French wine sourced from a private vineyard.
