Sheriffmuir Inn

Sheriffmuir, Dunblane, FK15 0LN

Situated in the hills above Dunblane the Sheriffmuir Inn is in the most idyllic setting. With an interior of wood and tasteful tartan the whole experience is unique. The menu is all freshly prepared with produce sourced as locally as possible, including diver caught scallops from the west coast, fruit from Blairgowrie used when in season, lamb with a seven mile carbon foot print. With an outdoor play ground it is an ideal place to take children and it also serves half portions to guests on request. Start with a plate of oak smoked salmon with lemon and ground black pepper and battered calamari rings with tartare sauce. For main course order beef olives filled with John Hill's haggis braised in ale gravy served with mash and rich venison and steak braised in cranberry seasoned rich gravy with puff pastry.

REVIEWS OF Sheriffmuir Inn

Bill and Norma (6 July 2011)

Nothing could detract from our experience at this ‘Gem’ - the location, appointment, service, hospitality and above all the quality of the food. Out of the way, perhaps, but still only 45 to 50 minutes from Edinburgh. Our first, but certainly not our last experience.
