Ship Inn, The Description

Here is good straightforward pub food, with no pretensions, decently prepared and reasonable in price. When the need is there who could ask for more?

At the deli-bar you can create your own cold starter, or there is coarse chicken liver pate with just a hint of Cointreau, before moving on to a selection of roast meats with unlimited vegetables, second helpings even, steak and ale pie, salmon on Hollandaise sauce or asparagus and chive tart.

For the finishing touch try their bread and butter pudding with marmalade, served with custard or ice cream. And the beer is good too.

Fixed Lunch

  • £8.95 (2 courses) to £11.95 (3 courses), Mon - Fri

Your Reviews of Ship Inn, The

Lizzie (27 August 2008)

I have eaten at the Ship Inn several times and have enjoyed the food. However, don't order the burger with cheese as I think the cheese is not ‘real’ cheese but more the pre-packaged variety. My mother ordered this and we were amazed that the cheese was not fresh. We won't be ordering that again.

Sarah (7 November 2007)

Outstanding food, it isn’t the cheapest place but the prices reflect the quality of the food for sure. I would recommend to anyone and everyone. Treat yourself at The Ship Inn.
