The White Horse that houses Silks is situated in the heart of historic Romsey, and the Georgian façade of this Grade II listed hotel conceals a building that dates back to the 14th century with a heritage rich in history.

I had a lovely lunch there over the bank holiday weekend. Sat in the outside terrace area and enjoyed the renowned fresh-baked breads, rib-eye steak and seared tuna. Unexpected accompaniments topped off a splendid meal. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Romsey.

At last there is somewhere pleasant to spend whatever time of the day it may be when visiting Romsey. Whether I’ve been having coffee, a lunch time snack or the other night when I was in for dinner with some friends the service has always been five star. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at Silks Hotels, The White Horse, Romsey, which is so refreshing. With regards to the food the choices are excellent with two menus to choose from. The quality and presentation of the food are excellent, and it’s wonderful that all the produce, wherever possible is sourced locally. It’s also good to be able to view the chefs at work through the viewing window on your way to the Simply Silks Brasserie. Would I recommend this hotel? Definitely yes, as it is good value for money with excellent service and a relaxed, but five star environment. This is just what Romsey needs.
