Sinatra Lounge Bar, Bistro and Restaurant Description
At the heart of the thriving city of Nottingham is Sinatra Lounge Bar, Bistro and Restaurant, offering class cuisine for those to whom quality and excellence are paramount considerations. Sinatra's is located in the new Chapel Quarter of Nottingham an area that has quickly established itself as one of Nottingham's premier destinations.
The Bistro has its own menu starting with breakfast, through lunch, with a sparkling selection of dishes, whereas the restaurant offers more formal dining and a comprehensive selection of seasonal specials. The wine list seems to have been designed to give as wide an international coverage as possible - and succeeds - with wonderful selections, many by the glass, or bottle.
Inside the atmosphere is stylish yet relaxing, a haven of good taste and comfort. The background music is a careful mixture of soul, jazz and blues which enhances the restaurants buzzing ambiance.
With a clientele drawn from office lunchers, theatre-goers, shoppers and those seeking a class venue in which to socialise, there are not too many quiet moments at Sinatras. For those who do not want the formality of a dining table, if the weather is right there is an alfresco area under large umbrellas and patio heaters for you to enjoy your food.
The menu incorporates modern Bistro favourites alongside a good choice of specials dictated by the seasons. Starters of char grilled Thai tiger prawns are in a marinade of lemon grass, fresh coriander, pickled ginger, oyster sauce and served with chilli jam. Crostini have that certain Mediterranean feeling at any time, but at Sinatra the Italian plum tomato, crumbled feta with basil and garlic olive oil and marinated olives seem to bring the warmth of the sun right on to the table.
There is a good range of salads, starting with a classic Caesar salad made from char grilled chicken breast, sliced on to a bed of cos lettuce leaves, with tarragon croutons in the house's own dressing, and finished with fresh parmesan shavings and anchovies.
The house salad comes with sun-dried tomatoes, avocados and roast almonds combined with crisp mixed lettuce and a honey mustard dressing, served with a choice of chicken breast or baked goat's cheese. The pasta dishes have that distinctive trade mark of their country of origin, using salmon, chicken and pancetta, goat's cheese or pappadelle polpette.
Bistro main courses include cod in beer batter and hand cut chips, veal Osso Bucco and a char grilled rib eye steak with all the trimmings. Amongst the specials expect to find lamb Wellington, from tender Derbyshire lamb, wild boar resting on a chilli mash, a nice combination of flavours, and salt and pepper pork, a dish of peppercorn encrusted pork fillet with truffle infused hummus served with courgette batons, topped with Wasabi mayonnaise.
Sinatra is clearly one of the most popular venues in Nottingham, and rightly so. Tight management usually makes for good results and there is every evidence of it here, however, the proof of the pudding is in the eating and their Website should provide good evidence of that.
Your Reviews of Sinatra Lounge Bar, Bistro and Restaurant
Frankie (3 June 2008)
Our food was stunning, beautifully presented and moderately priced, which was impressive. However, I feel the service could have been better. Although helpful, our waitress was not particularly friendly and we were given the impression that Sinatra's was out of our league. While this did make us smile slightly, it may not have been so amusing to other customers. I would probably go back for an evening meal, as many people say it has a great atmosphere.
Joe Lawrence (23 April 2008)
We live in the city and eat at Sinatra's regularly. The food and service are outstanding and I would like to thank them for looking after my table so well on my thirtieth birthday.
