Sitaaray
167 Drury Lane, Covent Garden, London, WC2B 5PG
A rather unlikely combination of restaurant and cinema, or Bollywood to be more accurate. At least it distinguishes the restaurant from the other reputed 9,000 curry houses in Britain, and Bollywood seems to be enjoying a boom at present. Customers are fortunate in gaining two for the price of one, particularly with some 20 classic Indian films available. The décor is Indian plush, and then some; think cosy booths in a room with pink walls themed with film posters, plus a good measure of gold screens and chandeliers and you have it. Instead of the barrels of popcorn and sickly drinks in small buckets now traditional in Western cinemas, you are more likely to be able to enjoy The Great Indian Grill, described as nine kebabs and three curries, with more brought hot off the tandoor to your table repeatedly until you hoist the flag of surrender.A rather unlikely combination of restaurant and cinema, or Bollywood to be more accurate. Lunch platters start at £14.50 and there is good value to be had pre or post theatre from £14.50 to £16.50.
In amongst the many delights on the menu keep a lookout for the ajwani crispy batter fried fish flavoured with carom seeds, and pan-fried minced spinach kebabs stuffed with dried figs.
This is a place with a real difference, and you should go not only for the novelty but also the quality of the food.

REVIEWS OF Sitaaray
Aalina S (2 May 2009)
Last Tuesday we went to celebrate our first anniversary; we liked the food and the service. The unlimited kabab menu was a real value for money.
Ben C (18 October 2008)
We went to Sitaaray last night after reading the reviews, and it was truly an experience. We loved the food, and décor. Even the members of staff are friendly there. We are definitely going back.
