Your Reviews of Smith's Brasserie

David (5 July 2007)

Gary, the previous reviewer could not have gone to the same restaurant as us. Reading his review could have put us off but we had heard of Smith's reputation and it lived up to it and better. Interior excellent, our waitress's bright and smiling in their spotless whites. A party of eight was celebrating a birthday all eating a variety of dishes well presented and delicious. Good house wines went well with our food. The apple dessert is a work of art. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Their number is in out database and we will use them for our special occasions. Well done. Anyway for us they are closer than the Adriatico!

Angela (29 June 2007)

Having read a recent review it was with trepidation we booked lunch. However we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I had the set menu - Swedish herring, very tasty, followed by dressed crab. The portion was too rich for me but delicious. My husband chose from the a la carte and had a huge prawn cocktail, plenty of shrimps or small prawns, followed by grilled middle skate, he said it was very good. We had one portion of chunky chips which were plenty for us. Wine by the glass is good value and they have half bottles, including drinks £62 - London prices but if you ate from the set menu you would get good value and it would be cheaper. We would return for lunch.
