Located in a corner of the historic civic centre, Soluna Café is in close proximity to the Asian Art Museum and several theatres thereby making it a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Inside the dining area is done up in earthy hues of brown and orange with ornamental lamps and artwork adorning the walls, and then there's the bar area with an attractive display of bottles on one side and views of McAllister Street on the other.

The cooking is predominately Californian with an emphasis on creative techniques and artful presentation, so at dinner time there could be a Dungeness crab duet of crab cakes with lemon aioli and spicy crab with cucumber and roasted red pepper parfait. Large plates of double-cut hill ranch pork chop with crawfish leek spoon bread, apple fennel slaw and Dijon mustard sauce, and seared rare ahi with warm fingerling potato salad, frisée and green olive tapenade should please the hearty eaters.
