Spice Court Description
Right opposite Gillingham Station is the Spice Court, a smart and trendy restaurant serving delicious Indian and Bangladeshi food. The warm and friendly service is further accentuated when you realise that they have gone to great lengths to become as disabled-friendly as they can. The décor is pleasant and whether it is a romantic date or a boisterous evening with friends, the food and ambience make it pleasantly memorable.
A starter of shrimps with mild cocktail sauce and diced avocado leads to main courses that range from tandoori duck to marisa chicken, a hot curry prepared with fresh chillies and special spices. Seafood and lamb are represented well on the menu with a number of favourites such as jalfrezi, korahi and vindaloo doing the rounds. The bar is well stocked with champagnes, liqueurs and European wines, while their cocktails alone are worth the journey.
Fixed Lunch
- £5.99 (3 courses), Mon to Sat, £7.50 (all day buffet), Sun
Your Reviews of Spice Court
Simon Waybridge (23 December 2008)
I was recommended Spice Court by a friend whilst visiting Gillingham. Having sampled most of the Indian restaurants in the locality, I have found this one to be quite upmarket for the area. The members of staff were very professional in their approach and extremely courteous. I ordered a chicken marisa and lemon rice with a side order of sag paneer and naan bread. The texture of the chicken and the spices were superbly fused and was a delight to the taste buds. As for the sag paneer, it was pleasantly different to the ones I am used to. The naan was just right and the lemon rice was average. In essence this place should do well. I’m told that it is under the same ownership for the last eight years, which means something is right bearing in mind its location. The same family have string of upmarket restaurants through out Kent and London. It also has a family link to the famous Bengal Clipper Restaurant in Tower Bridge. I would highly recommend the Spice Court.

You can enjoy an explosion of colours and flavours, a mixture of mouth watering traditional and evolved Indian-Bangladeshi dishes merging the finest tradition in Eastern cuisine as enjoyed in the west, situated right opposite Gillingham Railway Station.
