Located in Pitlochry, a tourist town in the heart of Scotland that rose to prominence in the mid-19th century due to the patronage of Queen Victoria, the Strathgarry Restaurant and Rooms continues to uphold the town's tradition for Scottish hospitality. Guests could pop in for some freshly baked pastries or a traditional Scottish breakfast - served all day till 6pm - to set you up for a day hill walking on Ben Vrockie or a round at the local golf course.

The restaurant's lunch menu ranges from starters prawn cocktail or local smoked salmon and sandwiches to toasted ciabatta, pasta and burgers. There are a host of Scottish favourites such as mince and tatties in a rich gravy served with creamy mashed potatoes, and roast chicken breast stuffed with haggis, served with neeps, tatties and peppercorn sauce. The set price menu offers good value and features tomato and mozzarella salad, duet of haddock served with creamy mash and stir-fried leeks, and apple pie with cream and trio of ice cream.

Strathgarry also ensures a good night's rest for the weary traveller, who could choose from one of their six guest rooms, each bearing the name of a fine malt Scotch whisky.
