Sukhothai Palace

62 Middle Street, Brighton, BN1 1AL

Ingredients imported from Thailand, chefs who have mastered the cuisines and a traditional ambience, you'll find it all here at the Sukothai Palace, in the heart of Brighton, close to the lanes and Churchill Square shopping areas. Their extensive a la carte menu is available all day and you can choose from a range of traditional and classic dishes. You can try the green and red curries and the tom yum soup or the Hong Kong beef served sizzling on a hot plate at the table. For the more adventurous, there's the haw mok curry, a delicious, smooth, creamy red curry steamed on banana leaves and sweet basil, topped with a coconut cream sauce. If you want it spicier you have only to ask.

REVIEWS OF Sukhothai Palace

Lawrence (10 November 2006)

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Brighton, not because the food is outstanding, although it is tasty and well presented, but because of the complete dining experience. Intimate and beautifully adorned with orchids and candles, it is the ideal place to take someone special for a reasonably priced, reasonably authentic meal. The service is quick and efficient and the waitresses a joy to be served by. Would recommend to anyone!

Lianne Wakeman (27 May 2005)

Our first meal on our visit to Brighton set standards which other restaurants could not match for the rest of our visit. We had great service, relaxing location (beautiful tea lights making a romantic and calm setting), and without a doubt authentically excellent cuisine. The tofu starter was tasty, we enjoyed main courses of Thai red curry with rice, and sweet and sour king prawns with noodles. The prawns were tender and the curry contained just the right amount of flavour and spice. Our desserts just topped it off nicely: a home baked cheesecake that put all others to shame and coconut ice cream which actually tasted of coconut and not sweet ice cream with a hint of coconut flavour. I would recommend this restaurant for any one who loves Thai food or just wants to give it a go. Not only was the food divine, but we really felt that it mattered to the staff that we were enjoying the food... there was a real sense of pride.
