Sumosan Restaurant & Bar Description
A trendy Japanese restaurant, on the site where Coast and then Mash used to be, in Albemarle Street. Unusually, this is Moscow's answer to trendy food, as it has been created by a Russian company, and a darned good job they seem to have made of it, though the idea of a sushi style restaurant created in London by Muscovites rather leaves the mind boggling and wondering - what next?
Though the prices are fairly stiff, the portions are dramatically larger than at similar establishments, like Nobu, and they serve many of the same specialities like the now ubiquitous black cod with miso, slices of red duck breast in teriyaki sauce or soft shelled crabs. The service is swift, pleasant and helpful.

The waiters at Sumosan Restaurant were huddled together gossiping and did not notice orders needed to be taken. They were eating while serving us at the restaurant and very poor hygiene. The food was brilliant but the service was poor, some of the waiters could not even speak English, I have been to Sumosan many times for my meetings but this time I was disappointed!
