Surin Thai Restaurant
30 Harbour Street, Ramsgate, CT11 8HA
This is just the sort of restaurant that a resort like Ramsgate needs. Named after the hometown of chef and owner, Miss Damrong, who has a cooking pedigree that would be the envy of most in her profession, and includes cooking for the Thai Royal Family, Surin offers a wonderful blend of three of the most delightful cuisines in the world. The menu carries a mouth watering range of dishes, which in other places might be a cause for concern rather than rejoicing, yet here one knows that all dishes are freshly prepared, for which time should be allowed, so try not to spoil the experience by being in a hurry!Seafood, Thai

REVIEWS OF Surin Thai Restaurant
Richard (22 December 2007)
I had lunch at Surin and I was the only customer during the forty minutes I was there. I had the set lunch. I went because I had read impressive newspaper reviews of the restaurant. The service during lunch was polite and prompt, without being intrusive.
Now the lunch: It was amazing! Crunchy hot spring rolls stuffed with fresh vegetables followed by chilli squid and rice. The flavours were fresh, clean, wholesome and penetratingly clear. I've spent all day thinking about that lunch - my mouth is still tingling with the experience. It’s a sparklingly good restaurant - perhaps I cannot guarantee that on the basis of one set lunch - but as a chronic fusspot and grumbler I was really impressed. What has Ramsgate done to deserve this? Nothing, I think. Surin, please move to Canterbury where I live. I’m going again as soon as possible.
George Shaw (20 November 2003)
The best authentic Thai food to be found in the whole of Kent and it certainly rivals the best in London. The extensive menu also includes a number of Cambodian and Lao dishes. Popular with locals, the yachting fraternity and a growing number of gastro tourists from London. Located by the harbour, fish is a speciality and the sea food tastes as though it's been specially caught to order. Uniquely, the restaurant has introduced its own range of 'Thai' beers, which are produced by a local micro brewery.
