Swan Restaurant at Tetsworth, The

We had lunch in The Swan Restaurant at Tetsworth today and both of us ordered the pave of beef sirloin with carrot puree and shin bolognese. The beef was coarse and the carrot puree was thin and watery. The shin bolognese turned out to be a form of gravy, which had congealed at the edges and the portion was small. My wife asked for it to be well done but it was overcooked. It was not presented well and had little support from the meat. They do not serve additional vegetables. The wine was fine but the dining experience was disappointing, so we did not stay for desserts.

Have eaten here on numerous occasions. This is one of my favourite restaurants in the area and you can expect to pay about £30 a head for a 3-course meal with coffee.

A wide range of dishes. Mainly meat and game but they do have a selection of fish dishes and one vegetarian dish. They also do a nice roast on a Sunday.

All dishes are very tasty. I can recommend the moules, goat’s cheese, smoked salmon for starters. The rib eye steak, lamb, salmon and sea bass for main and the hot date cake, raspberry brûlée and bread and butter pudding for dessert.
