Switchroom Cafeteria at Churchill Museum

Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms, 1 King Charles Street, London, SW1A 2AQ

Museums are always places of interest to many, whether visitors, students or travellers. The first national museum created by the Cabinet War Rooms, is dedicated to Winston Churchill. The story of this famous historical figure comes alive with state-of-the-art technology and multimedia displays so the audience has an opportunity to understand not only his 'finest hour' during the Second World War, but also the private life of the leader. Winston Churchill held the reigns of Britain's military and political activities during World War II from this place, housed in the basement of England's Treasury Department. Churchill's bedroom and the cabinet room with maps, pictures, notes, books, telephones and accessories are preserved intact.

After the nostalgic, emotional and patriotic tour of the museum, it is a refreshing change to arrive at the Switchroom Cafeteria. It offers a range of cold and hot food that is freshly prepared. Although it is almost in the middle of the tour path, it is possible to access the cafeteria whenever one wishes to take a break.

Open from 10 am to 5 pm right through the week, the cafeteria also displays interesting photographic artefacts.
