Sylk Restaurant & Bar Description
Restaurants such as Sylk bring a smile to the face, quicker than other places, simply because they excel in serving dishes most Britons have grown up enjoying. It is the kind of place you could drop in for a tasty meal, or for a drink and to relax on the sofas and in the lounge bar.
Located in the centre of Macclesfield just off Mill Street, the welcoming restaurant and bar serves contemporary British cuisine, all created fresh and using local produce whenever possible, and accompanied by an impressive selection of wines and champagne.
Start your meal with poached salmon press with honey and dill mayonnaise or confit of duck leg on a cassoulet of beans, before moving on to a main course of braised venison cobbler served with red cabbage; vegetable ratatouille feuilleté, or a straightforward fillet of Yorkshire beef.
Outrageously indulgent desserts include Sylk's rhubarb and whisky trifle; a trio of chocolate,and homemade jam roly-poly and custard. The three-course Sunday lunch menu is popular among customers.

Well what can I say - other than we keep going back with family, friends and office colleagues. Most recently a group of us enjoyed the first night of the new winter menu. Quite a few had never been there before, but everyone had a great time. The food is wonderful - not at all fussy and pretentious just cooked to perfection and a generous menu to suit a wide range of tastes. The ambience is fabulously relaxed, so call your friends and get together and enjoy a great night out. You will want to go back for certain. Well done to Derren, Carl and team. We will see you soon.

I have visited Sylk five times now in five months. What a great place - fantastic food, good wines and friendly service. Somewhere you can put your glad rags on and enjoy from the moment you step inside. The decor and fresh flowers add to the ambience and it is so romantic when the candles are lit in the evening. The menu is varied and the prices are so reasonable for such good quality food. Well done Sylk! I will look forward to my next visit which will be very soon. Thank you.
