The Tai Pan formula both here and in Manchester seems to work well. A visit to this one in Liverpool one Sunday morning leaves no doubt as to its success as hordes of happy Chinese devour their Dim Sum. On the assumption that most people go somewhere like this to enjoy their food rather than the décor, you will be happy too. Trolleys loaded with hot, steaming food circulate amongst the tables and you order what you will. Prices are reasonable, service is efficient rather than friendly, parking is secure and you are advised to do as the Chinese do and drink tea with your meal.Chinese

Bit disappointed in food - nothing out of the ordinary and quite expensive for a slightly moderate restaurant though portions were decent. Service was very good but wouldn't bother going again - Liverpool's Chinatown has more to offer.

We love the Tai Pan. We have eaten there so many times, and keep returning as it's so good! Also, we only tend to get take away oriental food from this restaurant as it's always so good! I'm a vegetarian, and the vegetarian dishes are just lovely! They do vegetarian chicken and vegetarian beef dishes which are just wonderful to eat! My husband has had the lobster quite a few times and said it is really good. The service is quick, the food is well prepared and the restaurant is comfortable and clean. Only criticism would be the ladies toilets, which could definitely do with a bit more attention. Otherwise this is one of my favourite restaurants in Liverpool!
