Take 5 Cafe

72 Stokes Croft, Bristol, BS1 3QY

This vibrant little café is a particular hit with the local student population throughout the day. The morning starts early serving up full English breakfasts, including a vegetarian version, whilst lunchtime sees the arrival of dishes such as: Mexican tortilla, Mediterranean stir-fry vegetables and warm chicken breast and button mushroom salad. The evening menu is equally diverse incorporating Indian, Thai and Mexican cuisine including rich and creamy lamb pasanda and Thai green curry. Evening main course dishes are all priced around the £10 mark. Alternatively you can just pop by anytime and enjoy a drink with friends from freshly squeezed juices and smoothies, to herbal tea or something stronger.

REVIEWS OF Take 5 Cafe

Mark (2 October 2010)

This restaurant is Bristol's best kept under-rated secret! I have been there to dine and party a few times and it is a world apart in times of its home-made authentic Indian and other curries. The owner is spiritually and ethically minded who runs it out of interest than for profit and it is a clean, friendly and efficient place. Currently, they are doing a £5 value meal of curry, rice and accompaniments without compromising on quality. Their ingredients don't include ready sauces, colourings or bad oils, as they focus on organic and natural products to add colour and taste, such as beetroot and turmeric. Their staff seems very educated, informed and friendly! I absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to experience proper home-cooked Asian food at an affordable price!
