Talad Thai on Upper Richmond Road tries to follow a simple philosophy which involves serving delicious Thai food prepared from authentic ingredients and cooked in a manner that befits tradition. There's no attempt to mask the original flavours with Western concepts, so you can be assured that the fare they serve in their friendly restaurant is indeed the real thing. Talad Thai started out as a supermarket which sold a number of items that were sourced directly from Thailand but over the years, they branched out into a restaurant, which has met with commendable success.

From the menu, you could choose starters of prawns and minced pork wrapped in lemongrass and then deep fried or maybe a creamy lemony soup made with sliced pieces of chicken simmered in coconut milk and seasoned with galangal, kaffir leaves, chillies and other herbs. There's a good choice of eight curries, fragrant with spices and prepared with beef, pork or chicken along with some tasty stir fries also. Finish with the banana pastry with ice cream.
