My partner and I went there for lunch last Thursday. When we walked in we were pleasantly greeted by the lady behind the bar; however the landlord deemed us not fit for a greeting. Our lunch was adequate, but the serviettes were single ply, not what you expect in a nice country pub. We settled our bill and the lady thanked us for our custom, but yet again the landlord deemed us unfit for a fond farewell.

Please note last orders for food are at 21:00 not 22:00. We arrived at 21:20 and were almost disappointed - the landlord kindly agreed to still serve us. The food was of high standard and certainly a good choice for those who enjoy fish. I had the flaked smoked haddock puff with new potatoes, which was marvellous. My colleagues had ham and eggs and leek stroganoff, which they both enjoyed. A friendly atmosphere and good value - I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.
