We love food (1 March 2009)

I just had a very bad experience today at this restaurant. The attitude of their waitress is just terrible. My friends and I arrived separately to this restaurant for dinner. Some of my friends had to leave while I was still having my dinner. Therefore, they asked for their bill. When it arrived, we realised that they had included my portion in their bill even though we ordered separately. I explained to them that since I am still eating and I need to order more food, can we have a separate bill? They told us that they couldn't do it as they already key-in the system, in a very rushed and discomforted manner. I haven't experienced this before in other restaurant plus I doubt they really couldn't do anything with such a small request. I tried to explain to them that as my friends and I had ordered quite a lot of food and it would be troublesome to separate this by ourselves. Again, she refused to help and pointed that we didn't tell them we need a separate bill while ordering therefore, we should sort this out ourselves. How on earth we would know we need to inform them earlier on this small issue since other restaurants doesn't have these rules and how can it be our fault? I was annoyed when she said that and I complained that their management should consider this instead of telling their customers they have done something wrong, even though it's not wrong. After hearing this, she even didn't say anything to us and just turned her back and walked away. We were very angry with her attitude and I even lost my appetite. We just separated the bill ourselves and paid, then walked out of this restaurant. Although there are not many Japanese restaurants in this town, but after this incident, I doubt if I would go back again.

Last night I visited the Tenkaichi restaurant on City Road as my usual Japanese restaurant is closed. I have to say I was most disappointed. I sat shoulder to shoulder with complete strangers, had my coat on my lap for the entire evening, and had to ask five people to get out of their seats so I could go to the toilet, which was not very pleasant. I was not given a wine or drinks menu, and the food menu I was given was stuck together with cellotape. After complaining and saying how unsatisfied I was with my meal, I was told I had to pay!
