In the somewhat military surroundings of Mildenhall with the odd B52 passing overhead it comes as something of a relief to encounter this commanding 18th century red brick Georgian house, possibly the former residence of some local farmer grown to squirearchy on the fertile acres of Suffolk. Its attractive grounds overlook the River Lark. Menus are inventive and well-prepared with set price lunch and dinner both at £20.50.
