Texture is said to be staffed by those who have been through the influence of Raymond Blanc, notably at Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons, which seems to me to be a very good reason for making Texture an early port of call. Both Agnar Sverrisson and Xavier Rousset have enjoyed distinguished careers both before and during their Manoir Moments, and Texture stands as eloquent testimony to that fact.

A 30 seater champagne bar affords pleasant surroundings in which to assemble and wash away the rigours of the day before giving serious thought to a menu that inspires.

Expect crisp wafers of fried cod skin, which is a great deal better than you might at first think, roast breast of black-leg chicken with toasted grains, lemongrass and ginger soup with strawberries, passion fruit and figs, and a standard of service and table settings that leaves nothing more to be desired.

The surroundings are elegant and demonstrate good taste. What more can one ask?
