Thai Brasserie at Crazy Bear - Oxford

We found details of Crazy Bear while searching online for somewhere to take my mother for her 80th birthday. We wanted an informal, friendly place with pretty standard pub food. We called and booked, just to be on the safe side. Fairly easy to find using directions from their website, but don't expect to find it easily without! - tucked away in a delightful little village.

We received a friendly, warm welcome. There seemed to be a mixture of regular locals plus people eating in the restaurant area, though mostly in one big area. There is nice-looking conservatory section, but being a cold winter evening when we visited, we stayed in the warm main area. The food was better than average pub grub. We didn't sample the Thai menu, stuck to traditional options and all were good. Starters were varied and excellent while the main courses were all good and the portions were filling. The desserts were nice too. Perhaps what made this special was the low price compared with the other restaurants. Good food at pub prices, in a nice friendly setting. I'd recommend it for a better than average pub restaurant meal at a good price.
