Situated within a Bishopsgate courtyard in East London, The Bathhouse restaurant is housed in a quirky 19th century building that harks back to a Victorian era of indulgence and grandeur. As the name suggests the building originally housed a Turkish bath that fell into misuse in the 1950s. The deceptively small exterior of this historical building leads down to a lavish interior that has been meticulously refurbished and restored to its former glory.

The delectable English menu is a blend of traditional and modern fare, made from fresh and locally sourced ingredients, which changes daily. It includes appetizers of cold Inverawe smoked salmon lasagne with cress and chive oil, or fricassee of wild mushroom on sourdough croute. Main courses include guinea fowl supreme with cream and calvados sauce, fondant sweet potatoes and French beans or a butternut squash with sage and chestnut risotto. Desserts of chocolate truffle and almond shortbread and French apple tart with vanilla ice cream will tempt those with a sweet tooth.
