Neil and Louise Hitchen offer a warm welcome to diners at The Berkeley Arms and it does not take much time to feel comfortable at this traditional Wymondham village pub. Customers can choose to visit them for a quick sandwich at lunchtime or in the evening to relax and enjoy a meal with the family or friends. When the sun is out, their garden provides just the right setting to sample some chilled beer and dishes from their menu, which changes daily to reflect the seasons. At lunch time diners can choose from a bar or two course set menu and a selection of sandwiches and ploughman's. In the evening there is a full à la carte alongside a three course fixed price option. They have truly put this excellent friendly 16th century village pub back on the map. The food is superb with wonderful flavours and textures, using local produce and ingredients to produce good rustic country food with the presentation and passion of any Mayfair London restaurant whether you choose the friendly atmosphere of the bar or the delightful dinning room it is worth a visit for a casual supper or a special treat.

This rates among the best pub restaurants food I've ever had. The flavours and presentation were excellent and portion size exactly to my liking - a three course meal left me comfortably full. If you like it piled high then this is not for you. The sweet was to die for, raspberry sorbet, lime cream on a mix of summer berries. Also, the staff are still cheerful and welcoming. Well done Chef, keep it up!
