The Bistro at Tiffins

24 Fore Street, Fowey, PL23 1AQ

Tiffins Bistro has evolved over the past four years from a well-loved but run-down delicatessen into a two floor, sixty seater bistro and bar. The food is renowed in the area for its freshness and quality using as much local seafood, meat and other produce as possible. The downstairs floor is lively, atmospheric and a good people watching place with a slightly French feel - while upstairs is a bit more romantic and feels cut off from the outside world. Decorated with black and white photos of the local area, blackboards showing the days specials, and numerous French glass and pottery pieces, it is a great spot to sit and while away the day over a bowl of fresh Fowey River mussels, a local crab baguette or a Cornish steak and chips.

In the evening, when the candles are lit and the lights dimmed, it is a pleasant choice to eat, listening to blues music playing, and enjoying the great food and wine.

REVIEWS OF The Bistro at Tiffins

Dennis King (25 September 2010)

We had dinner there last night with visiting friends! I must say that the food and the service was the best I have had in Cornwall and I live here! A three course dinner with wine was £25. All the ingredients were fresh and good quality. We were in the upstairs part which is smart and fresh. The only thing I did notice was that was the size of the print on the menu was a bit small for me as I wear glasses.

J.M.Godfrey (7 February 2010)

A chance lunch in Fowey, one of our favourite places for many years, was excellent. Perfect fish soup, with just the right touch of extras if one could bear to adulterate the taste of the soup on its own. A chunk of cod baked to perfection and not overpowered by the garnish of vegetables. The desert is delicious and the coffee – good. We are going back tonight and taking two friends.
