In an area where tastes are quite conservative and the majority of pubs are of the all day carvery variety the Black Horse stands out as the destination pub for those who want proper British cooking. Everything is made in house; oxtail terrine, salt cod, rabbit rillette, all served with handmade bread have featured on the menu in the past few months and that is just for starters. With exceptional seasonal British cooking the menu is a mix of interesting and technically brilliant dishes bolstered out with a few pub classics. This two person operation puts many michelin starred places to shame.
