I was so surprised to see that this amazing place has yet to receive a review. I have eaten here many times and was just looking to book here again later this month for my partner’s birthday. The superb quality of food has never disappointed and the atmosphere of the old building with its stonework and oak beams cannot be reproduced by your more modern establishments. The bar on the ground floor with its real fires and cosy corners makes it feel like home. The Blue Anchor is always my first choice. You'd never have known that this building nearly burnt to the ground. Well done to the owners for the exceptional job of restoration and returning it to its full glory.

Lovely cosy place and traditional pub! All the food was homemade, from the starters to the wonderful desserts. Food was outstanding, cooked to perfection and presented well. Staff were friendly, polite and even though it was busy, you didn't have to wait too long for your meal. I would recommend.
