Situated on the village green opposite to St. Andrews church, The Crown was almost entirely destroyed by fire in 2004 and was subsequently renovated keeping much of its original character intact.

Although it's a traditional pub at its core, the menu is thoughtfully designed and has a special section devoted to fish alone and yes, diners could have their fill of traditional British fish and chips in addition to breaded scampi, lemon sole, grilled fillet of sea bass and pan-fried skate. Sizzling starters such as garlic breaded mushrooms and smoked salmon and prawn salad could help set the tone followed by chicken surrender in a creamy mushroom and brandy sauce, and lemon and pork escalope. The dessert list is a dreamy collection of decadent creations like sticky toffee pudding, chocolate fudge cake and chocolate brownie sundae.

Light meal choices include chicken and Parma ham salad, spaghetti pomodora, Ploughman's and hot paninis amongst others, available throughout the day from 11 am.
