The Dartmoor Union Inn & Restaurant
Fore Street, Holbeton, nr Ivybridge, PL8 1NE
The Inn has an excellent reputation and within two months of opening following a major refurbishment in 2004, had been awarded an AA Rosette. Great use is made of locally sourced ingredients, in particular fresh vegetables, often grown within sight of the Inn. Head chef Graham Ledwith works with a menu that changes every two weeks, reinforced by daily specials and overall there is maximum flexibility of choice between their various menus. In 2005 this reflection of their consideration for the customer helped to earn them Les Routiers Best Dining Pub of the Year Award. Expect to find steamed limosa farm mussels in a white wine, coriander and citrus sauce, or goat's cheese crostini with home made pesto for starters, before moving on to grilled fillet of cod with shell fish and garlic butter sauce as a main course. The Inn has an excellent reputation and within two months of opening following a major refurbishment in 2004, had been awarded an AA Rosette. The honey roasted loin of pork with black pudding mash and char grilled aubergine is popular, and be sure not to miss some of those handcut Dartmoor Union fries, with sea salt and cracked pepper.
This, of course, is Devon so look for some of that gorgeous cream amongst the puddings. The surrounding countryside is rich in good walks, so you really have no excuse.

In one word – amazing! Fantastic food and amazing service. The staff were friendly and helpful to the highest standard, we weren’t rushed. We had the table all night. All in all, our evening was perfect. I and my family will definitely be visiting again. Fantastic!

The Dartmoor Union Inn is one of the best places I have ever been out for a meal. I chose to visit this establishment because I have not been, since the new owners have been in charge. The food was second to none, the service was warm and friendly and the atmosphere was stylish and comfortable. After spending some time talking to the owners, I came to see that they are the perfect people to run this establishment, they have excellent customer service, they know exactly what their customers want and they provide it with the highest quality. Although the prices are a little more than I can usually afford, it was definitely worth treating myself because I found I was paying for every aspect of my visit, the service, the atmosphere, the amazing food and the comfort of knowing that I could take all the time I needed to relax and enjoy my evening! I would definitely recommend to anyone to visit and enjoy the experience of dining at this fantastic establishment.
