Satisfied Sunday lunch customer (6 April 2008)

We dropped in for a lunch-time snack on Sunday - there were five of us ranging from twenty-three to eighty-four years of age. There was no room in the restaurant - a good sign to start. A polite waitress offered us the same menu in the bar area which was warm and cozy and had large tables at perfect height with comfortable chairs. There was a large bench near a welcoming log fire. One of us wanted a traditional Sunday lunch and there was a choice of three roasts at £8.95 - excellent value. The others wanted something light and the menu had a lot of variety. Three of us chose fish cake, prawn cocktail and Thai duck salad. The last one chose beef salad baguette which came with chips. Everyone appreciated the meal and with the bill, including drinks, coming in at £40, who could complain? We will return with a bigger appetite to sample the rest of the menu soon.
