The Drovers Arms stands impressively on the main A50 in Allostock Village. Outside there's an extensive beer garden, a patio area and a fully-maintained bowling green; step inside to find the kitchen aspiring to give diners a lovely traditional dining experience. The pensioner's hot buffet is served at lunchtime from Tuesday to Thursday and a popular lunch carvery operates on Sunday.

The focus is on fresh local produce, so expect starters of Cajun chicken dippers with light curry mayonnaise, and homemade pate with buttered toast. Mains can run from steak and ale pie and minted lamb shank on a bed of cream potatoes to the slightly more exotic sizzling skillets of garlic chicken, or ribbon of rump and duck sizzler, wok-fried in hoi sin sauce and Oriental style vegetables. The Drovers conservatory can hold up to forty people for small functions and the bowling green can be hired for an all day outing with morning refreshments, sandwiches, and homemade chips for lunch and a carvery meal at night.
