Combining age-old techniques with a modern flavour, the East restaurant offers the best of Oriental cuisine with influences of Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Malaysian cooking. Located within a charming old pub building full of character, the place provides a real taste of the Orient amidst a relaxed and minimalistic atmosphere. The large dining area is apt for elaborate meals or quick bites and can entertain large groups of families as well as couples and singles.

Iconic dishes from the modern Oriental repertoire such as chicken and salmon teriyaki, Thai spicy fishcake, sal-le pepper squid, Cantonese black bean dishes and monk's delight, find their way onto the menu. Elsewhere, there's crispy Szechuan aromatic duck, mixed seafood in bird's nest and a variety of soups and noodles. The torte au citron and chocolate pudding are the Sunday specialties, well worth trying for dessert.

The champagne, beers and spirits are good alternatives to the impressive wine list which has a choice of red, white and rose wines.
