Brewery Arts Centre, as the name implies, is a unique blend of ale, art and fine food, all in a quaint market town location in Kendal. The Grain Store Restaurant with its bistro-like feel and stunning artwork on the walls could be just the right place for any occasion. So pop in for a pre or post theatre meal, a romantic dinner for two or even host a birthday party here.

All ingredients are locally sourced. How about nibbling on some foccacia bread dipped with pesto or spicy tomato salsa, whilst examining the menu? Bury black pudding and smoked Cumberland sausages would make a good choice. Although the cooking is quintessentially British, its influences stretch far out to the east to include a grilled supreme of swordfish marinated in chilli, lime, ginger and coriander, served with jasmine rice, mange tout and sweet red pepper finished with saffron oil. For afters it could be a banoffee pie with English Lakes 'Thunder and Lighting' ice cream or perhaps an iced Irish coffee parfait.
