The Holly Bush
22 Holly Mount, Hampstead, London, NW3 6SG
The beautiful Holly Bush is one of the older and more charming pubs in London, beginning life as the stable block of a nearby house in the 1640s, when Hampstead was a country town. The pub retains many of its original features such as etched glass windows, oak flooring, gas lamps and pressed tin ceiling and walls. From the various sections on the menu, there are some very good things to eat indeed. Consider homemade crab cake, sausage rolls and baked goats' cheese salad for a start. Among meat main courses, slow roast lamb shank is cooked with beer and served with cheddar mash. A typical fish dish could be sea bass fillet, sweated leek and fennel with lemon butter. The list goes on to feature pies and sausages too.The beautiful Holly Bush is one of the older and more charming pubs in London, beginning life as the stable block of a nearby house in the 1640s, when Hampstead was a country town. Sticky toffee pudding or chocolate fondant could make a happy ending and beer and real ales are always there to complement this very decisive food.
Think of visiting The Holly Bush to while away a lazy weekend afternoon.
