The Jolly Cricketers

24 Chalfont Road, Seer Green, Beaconsfield, HP9 2YG

As you travel by the main Chalfont road through the village of Seer Green, you cannot miss the quaint 170 year old building housing The Jolly Cricketers pub. The tavern accommodates two bars and cricket paraphernalia adorns the walls. The garden area at the rear of the building is ideal for al fresco dining and beer festivals which are conducted periodically. Four hand pumps, three for ales from local breweries and one for cider are at hand to serve guests. Begin your innings with smoked mackerel pate, pickled cucumber and soft quail's egg served with toast and warm salad of wood pigeon, toasted hazelnuts, apple and beetroot before settling into slow braised shoulder of beef, creamed potatoes and rich red wine sauce and wild mushroom risotto, truffle mascarpone.

REVIEWS OF The Jolly Cricketers

Han (23 August 2010)

Yesterday we went to the Jolly Cricketers for the first time and yes, we were surprised! A very open, pleasant atmosphere and we had a lovely meal. Good service! We'll be back!

New in Town (8 August 2010)

We just had our first Sunday roast since we moved to the UK. The meal was lovely, with a number of traditional and unique meal options. I had the spinach and Parma cannelloni, which was very fresh and covered in fresh button mushrooms of many varieties. My husband had the traditional roast beef, and it was served just as he requested it. We shared a pudding called pallete d'or, which was really a tall, dense chocolate mousse and tasted like heaven. Service was as attentive as could be, given how busy the pub was in the afternoon. Delightful experience! We'll be back.
