The Lime House run by Adam and Catherine Fisher is a quaint and friendly restaurant on Goodramgate, home to the oldest row of houses in the picturesque city of York. The restaurant's striking purple brickwork and cosy bar lead on to a larger, though still intimate dining area at the rear. The restaurant serves a range of modern British and Mediterranean fare, which is prepared using high quality local ingredients and changes seasonally.
 
Chef Adam's a la carte menu skilfully incorporates local ingredients and exotic flavours with starters such as breast of pigeon and black pudding served with a pickled girolle salad or baked smoked haddock soufflé served with balsamic roasted cherry tomatoes. Main courses continue the theme with caramelised breast of Gressingham duck served with celeriac mash, Moroccan spiced rump of lamb, and loin of wild boar accompanied by creamed spring cabbage and a thyme jus.
 
A set three course evening menu also offers three choices of starter and dessert with a generous four options for main course, all for under £20.
