The Living Room - Glasgow

150 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5NE

Across its varied locations in the UK, The Living Room group of restaurants have become synonymous with delicious food in a comfortable atmosphere. Soothing music, a relaxed ambience and typical gastropub fare, aptly named Home Comforts, along with European influences have made this into a popular dining destination regardless of the venue. The execution is simple and the presentation, fantastic, so naturally the overall experience becomes something that you cherish and come to savour. From the á la carte, choose beer battered tiger prawns with a sweet chilli sauce and wasabi or something from the small plates selection which includes chorizo sausage pan fried in chilli and red wine.

Amongst main courses, the steak, ale and mushroom pie vies for attention alongside a rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce and chips and the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and raspberry compote qualifies for an exceedingly rich dessert. The drinks list has contemporary and classic wines and champagnes which meet all requirements suitably.

REVIEWS OF The Living Room - Glasgow

S McKenzie (10 November 2008)

Further to my review of 2/9/08, I was invited back to The Living Room for a meal and would like to review that the quality of food was superb. We had a great night, and would like to thank them for giving us the opportunity to re-visit the restaurant. This was a completely different experience to our first visit. Very good and we will definitely be back

S McKenzie (2 September 2008)

We were six of us who dined there and were all very disappointed with the quality of the food. The steaks ordered well done arrived medium-rare. We returned them and the same steaks arrived back 20 minutes later. As you can imagine they were like rubber. Our table was booked for 8pm but the steaks arrived at 9.50pm. The chicken dish was overpowered by garlic and tasted terrible. We did not complain because we had waited that long and to be honest just wanted to leave. Considering the previous good reviews I had read about the Living Rooms, I could not believe the standard of food we got that Friday evening.
