The Living Room - Oxford

1 Oxford Castle, Oxford, OX1 1AY

Across its varied locations in the UK, The Living Room group of restaurants have become synonymous with delicious food in a comfortable atmosphere. Soothing music, a relaxed ambience and typical gastropub fare, aptly named Home Comforts, along with European influences have made this into a popular dining destination regardless of the venue. The execution is simple and the presentation, fantastic, so naturally the overall experience becomes something that you cherish and come to savour. From the á la carte, choose beer battered tiger prawns with a sweet chilli sauce and wasabi or something from the small plates selection which includes chorizo sausage pan fried in chilli and red wine.

Amongst main courses, the steak, ale and mushroom pie vies for attention alongside a rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce and chips and the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and raspberry compote qualifies for an exceedingly rich dessert. The drinks list has contemporary and classic wines and champagnes which meet all requirements suitably.

REVIEWS OF The Living Room - Oxford

Bobs (1 November 2009)

I have never eaten there, but had to comment on the amazing choice of cocktails on offer. They'll make you anything here and if you're luck enough to get a bar table, you can see them making it right in front of you. If you go between 5pm-9pm, it's happy hour and selected cocktails are £3.50 each - mojitos included and Singapore slings - you gotta go!

Lyn D (7 January 2009)

I visited The Living Room for a Sunday roast last week and was very impressed. There's a pianist playing in the afternoon and we stayed on for drinks and there was more music in the evening. The food was delicious and the service very friendly.
