This is a really friendly local pub and also very friendly to non local types. The food is quite expensive for pub food, but a lot of thought has gone into the menu and is definitely more than your usual fodder. The chips are great though. The beer is well kept, and the location in summer is surpassed by none of the pubs I have visited in Kent. Having conducted an extensive research, this pub is definitely the best within easy cycling distance, approximately 10 miles, of east golden green.
