If Mark Addy, the celebrated life saver and publican were to return today he would doubtless be much gratified to see that a plush new canal side drinking spot had been named after him. Manchester's drinking fraternity rate the place highly and it is particularly notable for its superb cheese platters and duck pate. There is nothing flighty about the place, simplicity rules but it is a recipe that obviously works.Modern European

We had lunch there on Sunday, it is very good value and the service was excellent. No negatives! They have turned this place around. Well done!

We called in to the revamped Mark Addy. Didn’t know about the new owners but wow! Have they made a difference? Clean, no smells. The food is terrific, very pleasant staff and four good cask ales for sale. Whoever is running the show deserves any success they get. Well done!
